Tanner McAteer is a Multi-Instrumentalist performer and instructor of many styles of music. A serious student of music, he has earned his B.A. in Music from UNC-Wilmington and his M.A. in Guitar Performance from Appalachian State University.
Playing his first gigs while still in high school, he continues to be an active performer playing Rock and Blues shows as well as Classical guitar in museums and at weddings. During his time at UNC-W he sang in the university Concert Choirs and Chamber Ensembles.
An instructor with over a decade of experience, Tanner has taught Classical and Jazz guitar at the college level at UNC-W and Appalachian State University.
Tanner states his teaching philosophy as such...
"I believe in meeting students where they are and working with them to discover and achieve their unique goals as musicians of any skill level."
That sounds just like the kind of person / instructor we like here at The Cape Fear Music Center, where we are "Enriching the Human Spirit through Music"
