Tony Harrison: Guitar and Bass Tony (that would be me; your narrator here on this site) grew up in a musical family and has been consumed by music since a very early age. He earned his BA in Music Business in 1990 from Pembroke State University before going to work in music retail, repair and education. (I also serve as department chair of sarcasm).
Jeff Stone: Percussion and Piano Jeff has performed with his family's gospel band since childhood. A talented singer and drummer, he has made his living making and teaching music for most of his life. Jeff is also an alumnus of Pembroke State University, earning his BA in Music Education in 1984. (He actually did his student teaching at Pine Forest Sr High when I was a senior there....making him SEVERAL years older than me)
Guy Unger: Guitar Guy is another guy who found his calling early in life. After a spell in Atlanta at the Atlanta Institute of Music to gather up a degree in Guitar Performance he headed back to NC to pursue fame and fortune. Well he's found it here today! (Not everyone gets their own paragraph on THIS site)
Sharona Carter: Piano and Voice Sharona also grew up playing and singing in the family gospel band. It was her great fortune to have Jeff as her older brother. (Jeff being who he is set a great example for Sharona growing up, thanks to that whole learn-from-your-brother's-mistakes thing). She is yet another fine example of the talent they turn out at Pembroke State University.
Casey Horne : Guitar Casey was a long time students of Guy's. He is now a student at Methodist University, studying music. He is one of the finest young guitarists in the region. (Casey's a pretty good sport too. His good humor comes naturally: from being such an easy target all those years maybe?)
The Technicians
Tyrone Green: Brasswind / Percussion (and pretty much anything else you can break) Tyrone spent more than 20 years heading up the brass repair section of the most respected repair shop in the southeast. Fortunately for us the family sold that business and the new ownership promptly ran it into the ground. One of the four founding partners of CFMC, Tyrone is well respected as the go-to brass tech in the region...so much so that the majority of area music stores use our shop for their repairs. If you take a horn to any of five of the seven music stores in the area it is going to end up here! And holy-cow...he's a beast of a drummer!
David Waylett: Woodwind specialist Dave is a rather unique individual by any definition. A veteran of over 40 years in the instrument repair world, he is the most experienced and well respected woodwind technician in the southeast. Many of our repair customers drive several hours to have the big fella' tweak their favorite horns. He has a vast wealth of knowledge that may be rivaled by Wikipedia....or maybe not... the jury is still out on that one. Another original partner that is an incredible drummer. Dave is THE first call straight ahead jazz guy in the region with a resume that rivals many of the top session drummers in the jazz field. |
